Great Cycling in Tucson

Sahuarita to Mission Road Loop Road Biking

ROAD BIKING TUCSON, ARIZONA – Just 20 minutes south of Tucson are three small towns called Sahuarita, Green Valley and Tubac that offer the best rural desert Arizona cycling experiences you can ever have.

Sahuarita and Green Valley, Arizona are two little towns located just 20 and 30 minutes south of Tucson. Sahuarita is a small family town with wide roads and plenty of bike lanes. Green Valley is the retirement alternative that also has wide roads and plenty of bike lanes. You can park in Sahuarita and safely bike all they way to the Mexican border if you liked.

Park anywhere in Sahuarita then ride west on Sahuarita Road all the way to Mission Road. You can choose to ride north or south, but we love the stretch of lonely road that goes south. It’s windy, curvy and your see nothing but beautiful desert and what locals call the “Green Valley Pyramids” – also known as our the copper mines.

Make Mission Road An “Old West” Experience

Take a left on Duval Mine Road and head west, but take a quick right on Esperanza and head towards Green Valley and the road is a fast downhill ride. You can take this road straight to and take a right at Abrego then a left on Continental, heading to Old Nogales Highway and/or incredible Madera Canyon. Stop off and get some coffee at La Posada Java.
